Imminent Domain

The site is being surveyed and prepped for work to begin. After being threatened with condemnation of the property, we reluctantly retained council to write a proper deed of easement. I will be keeping a close eye on the work site. One good result of using a lawyer is the inclusion of an indemnity clause leaving the city responsible for damage or harm to anyone. They did not take that responsibility, just the land.

This may seem like a stretch, but I find it interesting that the current issue of gun control, or more exactly the right to possess a gun (or guns!) and the irrational fear of the government taking away one's personal weapon is a bit misguided (on many fronts). In our case, and many like it, we see the government taking personal property as it pleases.

So, are those who are worried about their weapons being taken away as concerned about eminent domain?

We are not "going forward."
